Hi, my name is Karla Ginter, and I crunch the numbers here at Whipcord. I was born and raised in southern Manitoba, and thus, am well versed in swatting mosquitoes and shoveling enormous drifts of snow. The mountains called my name for enough years that when presented the opportunity for a transfer to southern Alberta in 2002, my husband and I jumped at it.

When I’m not at work, I’m generally spending time with my family – hitting the slopes in the winter (though I haven’t been able to keep up with my two sons for several years now) and the lake in the summer. My love for water sports, as a child, has transformed into a love for observing, with a glass of red wine (one of us got better with age). What some may refer to as a lack of courage, I prefer to think of as an abundance of wisdom. I’ve been “gifted” the super power ability to see absolutely everything that could possibly go wrong in an otherwise fun activity.
Karla & family

As a child, I was sure I’d become a doctor when I grew up, however quickly learned during my days at the University of Manitoba that my strengths lay elsewhere. I found all the courses involving math easy and appreciated there always being one right answer. So, I enrolled in the faculty of Commerce at the I.H. Asper School of Business, choosing a major in accounting, achieving spots on the honor roll and various academic awards along the way – never looking back at my lofty ideals of healing humans, but rather at how to help them make the most money.

Whipcord is a fantastic place to work with a great team of incredibly intelligent individuals who are also a lot of fun. I look forward to coming to work each morning to learn and experience all the new activities going on – never a dull moment here! I hope to contribute to Whipcord’s continued success by putting my hard-work ethic, as well as my accounting and tax knowledge to practice here.
